Beyond our wildest dreams

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Good morning, church. I hope you're feeling the presence of God with you today as you start your day. You know, sometimes we find ourselves looking at a task ahead, maybe at work or at home, and thinking, "There's just no way." Perhaps it's a mountain of laundry that just won't shrink, or a work deadline that feels impossible to meet, or even something bigger like navigating a difficult family situation. We size it up, we calculate our resources, and often, we conclude that what's needed is just beyond what we're capable of. We try our best, of course, but there's a limit to our human ability, isn't there?

Our scripture today reminds us that while our ability has limits, God's does not. Paul, writing to the church in Ephesus, declares that God is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." What an incredible statement! It’s not just "able to do what we ask," or even "a bit more than we ask." It’s "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." Imagine that – what we can conceive in our minds, what we dare to pray for, what we might hope for in our wildest dreams – God is capable of going far beyond it. This isn't just wishful thinking; it's a profound truth about the nature of our God, and it's powered by "the power that worketh in us." That's the Holy Spirit, dwelling within every believer, activating God's limitless ability.

So, as you go into your week, facing those ordinary challenges – perhaps a strained relationship, a financial worry, or even a deep-seated desire for breakthrough – remember this truth. This isn't about conjuring up positive thoughts; it's about trusting in the incredible, immeasurable power of God working through you. This month's theme, "Now is the Accepted Time," ties in beautifully. Now is the time to believe that God isn't limited by our circumstances or our limited vision. He can do things we haven't even begun to imagine, bringing glory to His name through His church, through us, for all time. Let's step into that truth today.
